An anthropological finding in time past has classified the Mongoloid southern Asian race by names to identity the people after their culture, lifestyle and traditional beliefs. Hence the word Naga is given or named for the people group who have common and identical lifestyle and color having compact geographical land occupation since time immemorial. The people group called the Naga is originally attached to their inherited country situated in the Northeastern side of India. The Naga people therefore have every right to be called as Naga Nation, written in the history of human world by the blood as ink of the Nagas. No Nation however great or powerful can deface it for it is written by the life-blood as ransom of the Nagas. The cost of the Naga country can never be compromised or measurable by politics.
The spirit of the determined Naga have caused their blood to flow over their country in the face of the mighty British colonial Empire during 1920s & 30s and that of the Indian tyrannical forces. The Naga Kingdom have withstood the test of time and proved themselves true and loyal to their land and God.
The sacrificial death of Jadonang who was hanged for Challenging the British Empire and subsequent death of many Naga precious lives during British rule and later Indian military rule could not subdued the Nagas. Their blood has been the seed of sacrifice multiplied over their land. British rule and Indian Military forces have withdrawn yet the spirit of dominant Indian policy continues affecting the Nagas till date.
The word Naga is not the name of tribe for the Mongoloid Asian race living in the North Eastern part of Indian. It is the name of identification of common people group having identical nature, structure, and lifestyle. The Nagas is a people comprising of 66 tribes having district identification traits. This Indian collectively termed it as Naga tribe to be under Indian Nation. The Nagas without much thought and consideration took it to be ok, not knowing the consequences that the Nagas will have to face. Now the spirit of tribalism, relativism and social classification are breeding among the Naga tribes creating pathogenic to tribal conflicts.
The Nagas have to accept the fact. The Nagas have been hypnotized and blind folded by Indian and poisoned with Tribalism and factionalism leading to tragic clashes and killing among each other blindly. Tribalism is the cloth the Indian used to blindfold the Nagas and led the Nagas to destroy each other. How long shall we remain blind, my beloved Naga countrymen? Let us wake up and see the reality. a moment delay could mean too late for the Nagas to change. We are to be light and truth bearers, a beacon of courage and integrity. It’s time to uphold our core value; integrity, and build our Nation on the unshakable foundation of truth. We need quality people to make quality Nation. Conscious Naga citizens must strive for eradication of regionalism, communalism and tribalism and then create a common sense of Nationalism. The success of our Nation does not depend upon our potential, resources or number of people but the quality of our people and performance. The pride of our Nation, the freedom and the prosperity of the Naga people lie in the responsible behaviors and quality service we produce today.
