Naga Musicians Collective presents Tribute Concert in Kohima

The Naga Musicians Collective (NMC) felt that it would be most appropriate to start its activities in a major way by hosting a Tribute Concert during October 25 and 26 at The Heritage (Old DC Bungalow), Kohima from 5:00 PM onwards.
NMC established on 4th July 2009 in Kohima with an objective to promote music in general and also to give a common platform to the musicians in Nagaland.
NMC Tribute Concert 2019 which is in partnership with Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA) will mark the coming together of various veteran musicians to pay respects through music in loving memory of those departed musicians friends who are no more.
Through this platform, the NMC wishes to pay humble respect and homage to one and all those past musicians who in their prime time had contributed much to the growth of music in Nagaland even if their names are not mentioned here in this Tribute Concert.
The show will be co-sponsor by Kohima Municipal Council (KMC), Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), K.K. Motors, All Nagaland TAXI Association (ANTA) and other individual sponsors.
The NMC called upon all the Tribute family members and all the music lovers to come and join along to pay sincere homage and respect to those great musicians who are no more with us.
NMC team comprises of Kevirielie Mepfhüo, Pfuche Koza, Vilone Sakhrie, Boulie Whuorie, Anthony Ngully, Andrew Ngully, Rovi Sangma, Thejove Medeo and Narola Jati.
Featuring Bands
SQUADRON
Squadron is one of the longest surviving rock bands in Nagaland which was formed in 1990. The band had the reputation of performing shows far and wide in the country covering nearly 400 appearances. The band also won the All India Beat Contest, Chennai IIT (Mardigrass) 1993. Winner of All Nagaland Beat Contest, 1994. 2nd Runners Up of North East Beat Contest Aizawl, 1996.
Line Ups: Wati (Vocals), K. Lanu (Bass), Mar (Drums), O. Temsu (Lead Guitar) and Bendang (Guitar).
Methaneilie Jütakhrie Solo
A Singer, Musician and Poet, Methaneilie is the Former Vocalist of JÜTAKHRIEKO, also remembered by fans as the Unforgetable Fab’ Five.
A God gifted singer who made his musical journey spanning over a period of 48 years now. Besides, through his humane effort and performances, he even aided a “SAVE A LIFE PHARMACY” at NHAK for the general public. He mesmerizes one and all with his soulful ballads and catchy rhetoric lyrics and indeed; his name had become a household name. He has about 200 original songs to his credit. And has already received various Awards of; Ura Academy ‘MAN OF THE YEAR AWARD, 1989’, T. Khel Students’ Union ‘MAN OF THE YEAR AWARD, 1989’, CLASSIC CLUB AWARD, 1999, GOVERNOR’S AWARD 2003. And PFUTSERO AWARD OF EXCELLENCE, 2012.
His undying love for music continues to make great impact, having the credit of lifetime contribution of 25 Album to his feat.

Bluetone Band
Coming together of veteran musicians for the Tribute show 2019. A Dimapur based band.
Line Ups: Hanben (Lead Vocals and Guitar), Moa Yaden (Bass), Tako Chang (Guitar), Rovi Sangma (Drums).
DGP Band
Formerly known as the 4th NAP Jazz Band now rechristened as the DGP Band had travelled a long way since the 70’s to till date. The Band had performed far and wide in many major occasions and had also won the North East Beat Contest at New Delhi in 2003.
Line Ups: Prasanta (DGP Band Incharge: Keyboards), Ajay Ganguly (Lead Guitar) Tobu (Bass), Michael Tseikhano (Sound Engineer & Vocals), Moatemsu Walling (Guitar & Vocals)
DGP Band will also be backing up Alemtemshi Jamir,IAS (Retd), Dr. Nicky Kire & K. Kire, IPS (Retd), Linda Solo, Boulie Whuorie during the Tribute Concert 2019. Vito Awomi (August Rush 2019 Winner) will make a special appearance.
