Naga National Prayer Day observed at Hebron

Congregation during the Naga National Prayer Day 2025 held at CHQ Church, Hebron on October 19.

Hebron, October 19 (MExN):  The Naga National Prayer Day 2025 was jointly organized by the Dimasa Baptist Church and the Council of Nagalim Churches (CNC) at CHQ Church, Hebron, under the theme “O God, Heal Us” (Hosea 6:1-3).

The event witnessed the participation of twenty-one churches and around 1,500 members from neighboring congregations, including national workers. Seven churches from surrounding villages delivered their messages through song presentations.

Pastor Zizora Thaosen, Executive Secretary of the Dimasa Baptist Church, expounded on the theme of the Naga National Prayer Day, drawing spiritual reflections from Scripture.

Singyaola Zimik, Member of the Collective Leadership, reflected on reconciliation and relationships among the Nagas, citing Colossians 2:21, Romans 5:10, and Ephesians 2:14. She said reconciliation is rooted in restoring what is broken, praying together, and resolving differences.

She stated that “our mission on earth is limitless; we are called to preach the Gospel of our Lord beyond our land and boundaries.” Sharing her grief over the present state of the Naga national movement, she said, “During the 28 years of peace negotiations, we have become so divided, fractured, and broken among ourselves.”

To restore unity, she underscored the need for self-introspection and retrospection. “In the process of reconciliation, forgiveness and acceptance are inevitable if we are to achieve lasting harmony,” she said. She further urged that the focus should be on the greater good rather than personal interests and that transformation must begin within each individual. “We must renounce all evil deeds and humble ourselves before God, for the time to do so is now,” she added.

Tongmeth Wangnao, Kedallo, GPRN, highlighted that the Naga national struggle has been sustained by the grace of God. He reminded the congregation to be thankful to God for enabling the Nagas to become bona fide members of the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization (UNPO) and for the historic signing of the Framework Agreement.

Reflecting on Proverbs 3:5, he affirmed that “the Bible is the living Word of God, and whatever it predicts surely comes to pass.” Drawing a comparison between the situation of the Nagas and that of Israel and Gaza, he stated that prayer and unity must remain the foremost priorities for the Naga people, through which “God will deliver us from all hurdles.”

Pastors from neighboring churches, chaplains, CNC staff, and women leaders led the prayer points throughout the program.

The organizing committee chairman presented the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the organizing team and all participants for their selfless contributions in making the event a success. He encouraged everyone to continue working together toward organizing even greater programs in the near future.
