Naga Repentance and National Unity

Naga freedom movement had now spanned 77 years. Instead of accomplishing the cherished freedom, Nagas had become an utterly divided and disunited family now. Everyone speaks of one Naga nationhood in principle but adopt different ideologies and approaches in practice. Our people need to ponder over this reality sincerely and discern what is true and what is false not only in the face of mankind but before God. Blindly accepting the claim of a person, a leader or an organisation is not going to solve anything.

Under these circumstances, let us introspect ourselves, accept and support the reality whether one likes it or not. Through the guidance of the Holy spirit, the banner of Naga freedom movement was, “NAGALAND FOR CHRIST”. This was the national declaration to start the freedom movement for liberty.

National freedom is not the property of an enlisted particular individual but a matter of concern and responsibility for all Naga to defend our God given right. It is the only chord that binds our people together as a family.

I believe that within the time frame of one life, there lies the opportunity to exercise ones capabilities for a better nationhood and not destroying it. I regret that all along the 34 years of my life as a National Workers, I was a drunkard, a prostitute and a thief which makes me unfit to be a true National Worker. This pinches my heart for which I confess before mankind and God and repent now. I shall strive to be a sincere National Worker from now on although I could not undo my past mistakes.

Sadly it is a fact that majority of National Workers today are like me leading that wretched life in the name of nationalism for which everyone must repent. Let us repent first so that Naga unity will follow suit.

I believe that sinners as we are, only through His amazing grace we had been protected all along to be His torch bearers. The Bible tells us that all mankind had sinned and come short of the glory of God. I appeal not only to National Workers but to all Nagas to repent and be true believers of Christ in words and deeds. On this foundation, let us knit a truly united Naga family to accomplish Naga National freedom and liberty of our people from the bondage of occupation and the reign of terror by alien forces.
