
Chümoukedima, December 3 (MExN): The Native Trax Society (NTS) organized the first ever ‘Naga Thali Challenge’ eating competition on December 3 at Nagaland Bamboo Resource Centre, Chümoukedima.
This event was held as part of the Hornbill Festival in collaboration with NBDA and Department of Tourism, Nagaland and supported by TaFMA, Techno Music India, Cinescope, Red box, Loreni Wardrobe, Myriad Branding (Branding Partner) & Hills FM (Radio Partner).
The Naga Thali Challenge eating competition with the theme ‘Dangerously Delicious’ is being held to promote and put the spotlight on our unique Naga cuisine to help boost tourism and present Nagaland as a unique destination, stated a press release from the Nativ Trax Society.
The event witnessed eight contestants pitted against one another in their bid to finish a huge ethnic Naga meal. It received a rousing support and appreciation from the crowd gathered at the venue.
Akhar emerged as the champion finishing the huge meal in a time of 13 minutes and 57 seconds and won a cash prize of Rs 10,000.
The other event of the day was a cosplay competition in collaboration with Dimapur Anime Guild.
This event saw 10 cosplayers presenting their best costumes and performances of anime characters which was very much appreciated and applauded by those present, Rongsenyala I Jamir cosplaying as Yuuko Ichihara walked away as the winner richer by Rs 15000.
