Naga youths reach out to Burma Camp families

Dimapur, November 25 (MExN): Members of two Facebook groups, The Naga Blog and Nagaland Open Online Barter or Sell (or NOOBS) have garnered Rs.18, 102 aside from other donated utilities and food, as charity to the victims of the November 15 fire at Burma Camp in Dimapur that killed three, injured scores and left hundreds homeless.
At the request of concerned members, the two groups had started a donation drive. A humble contribution of Rs. 100 from members who felt to contribute to the cause was collected at various contact points. Provisions were also arranged for online money transfer for the convenience of The Naga Blog and NOOBS members who are stationed outside Nagaland.
The facilitators of the fund drive informed in a note today: “In five days, an amount of Rs.18, 102 (eighteen thousand, one-hundred and two rupees) was collected; some members also contributed two sacks of clothes. Also, volunteers from Dimapur led by Kevin Yepthomi purchased 55 blankets, 10 bags of rice, 7 bags of potatoes and 4 bags of dal.  A shop owner learning of the mission also contributed 5 kg of ‘achar’ and 5 kg of salt. All the items were handed over to the chairman of the East Colony, Burma Camp Dimapur.”
The two groups and members express gratitude to all who offered their support and gave to the noble cause.
