Nagabazar Panchayat clarifies on absence of head teacher

KOHIMA, JULY 24 (MExN): The Nagabazar Panchayat Kohima Ward 4 has issued a clarification with regard to allegations that the Head Teacher of GMS Nagabazar has been absent for two and half years. 

A press release from the panchayat, while appreciating the 9 Kohima Town AC MLA for taking initiative in visiting government schools, it said that the issue regarding the particular head teacher has “clearly been a case of misinformation.” It informed that the said head teacher has been attached to the department for preparation of Government Primary Teachers seniority list in Nagaland via an order dated October 25, 2021 and since then he was unable to attend classes regularly because of the said assignment. 

“However, he has been actively performing his duties as head teacher till date,” the Nagabazar Panchayat said, while further informing that the SMO had a meeting on July 27, 2022, wherein one Assistant Head Teacher was appointed to take charge during the attachment period. 

It further stated that “over the years the school has been performing well academically securing excellent position in competitive exams results among the government schools in Nagaland.” “The allegation which was purported by some staffs in question is purely malice with the intention of tarnishing the good image that the head teacher is regrettable,” it said.
