Kohima, June 10 (MExN): NagaEd and the Nagaland Empowerment of People through Economic Development (NEPED) signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Kohima on June 10 to collaborate in areas including digital education, renewable energy market development, research, capacity building and community knowledge systems.

According to a press release issued by NagaEd, the agreement establishes a framework for cooperation between the two organisations, bringing together NagaEd's experience in digital learning and capacity-building initiatives and NEPED's work in community development, renewable energy and natural resource management.

The partnership will focus on research, documentation and knowledge systems, capacity building and digital learning, as well as partnership and ecosystem development.

Speaking on the collaboration, NagaEd Founder Kevisato Sanyü said the partnership seeks to strengthen pathways for sharing knowledge, skills and opportunities by connecting learning, technology and local expertise.

Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Nagaland and Team Leader of NEPED, Kovi Meyase, stated that the collaboration would help strengthen capacity-building programmes, knowledge systems and renewable energy initiatives through the Centre of Excellence for Renewable Energy Studies (CERES).

The release stated that both organisations share a commitment to community-centred development and that the partnership aims to support learning, innovation and sustainable development initiatives across the state.

NEPED is a Government of Nagaland initiative focused on community-based natural resource management, renewable energy development and sustainable livelihoods. It operates CERES in Dimapur, a facility dedicated to renewable energy research, innovation, manufacturing and training.

NagaEd, headquartered in Kohima, develops digital learning solutions, capacity-building programmes and technology-enabled systems for educational and institutional development across North-East India.
