Dimapur, June 7 (MExN): Nagaland’s COVID-19 tally rose to 22,918 on Monday as 145 more people tested positive for the virus, a health bulletin stated. As per the bulletin, out of 1,014 samples that were tested, 145 returned positive on June 6, indicating a test positivity rate of 14.29%.
The bulletin issued by the state Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) stated that the fresh cases were reported from ten districts—Mokokchung (40), Tuensang (36), Dimapur (31), Kohima (23), Mon (5), Zunheboto (4), Kiphire (2), Longleng (2), Phek (1), and Peren (1).
Among the new cases, 83 were from traced contacts, 56 from self test and random tests, 5 were from returnees/travellers and 1 case was detected from a frontline worker.
On Monday, the bulletin also reported 3 more deaths, pushing the state’s fatality count to 415 from 412 on June 6. This excludes 14 other deaths that were categorised as ‘not COVID related.’
As of June 7, at least 169 more people recuperated from the infection, taking the total number of recoveries to 17,143.
Accordingly, the active caseload in the state now stands at 4,703, out of which 4,349 are asymptomatic, 235 are mild symptomatic, 61 are said to be moderate on oxygen, 34 severe on oxygen, 16 in ICU without ventilator and 8 in ICU on ventilator, the bulletin stated.
