Nagaland: 17 new cases, one more COVID death

Dimapur, September 27 (MExN): Nagaland reported 17 fresh COVID cases on Monday taking the state’s active caseload to 426.

The new cases were reported from Dimapur-10, Kohima-3, Mokokchung-2, Peren-1, and Wokha-1, according to the daily health bulletin issued by the state’s Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme.

A total of 32 patients who had previously tested positive for the virus recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries in the state to 29,094. One more death was reported from and the COVID-19 death toll now stands at 648, as per the IDSP bulletin. This is excluding the 15 other deaths that were categorised as ‘non COVID deaths (with COVID-19 positivity).’

According to the IDSP bulletin, a total of 331 active cases are asymptomatic. Among the patients with active symptoms, 75 are said to be mild, 6 are moderate on oxygen, 6 have severe symptoms and are receiving oxygen support, 4 are admitted in the ICU without ventilators, and 4 patients are on ventilators. 

As on September 27, Dimapur had the highest number of active cases with 228 while Mon and Zunheboto districts do not have any active cases. There is no separate data for Noklak district as Noklak does not have a separate surveillance unit and the district’s data reporting is combined with Tuensang district.
