Nagaland: 25 new COVID cases, 7 recoveries

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 30 (MExN): 25 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Nagaland on September 30 taking the State’s total caseload to 31,244. 

The Health Department’s daily bulletin informed that the new cases include 14 from Dimapur, 7 from Kohima and 2 each from Mokokchung and Mon. They comprise of 17 cases reported through self testing and random testing, 6 returnees/travelers, 1 traced contact and 1 frontline worker.  

Seven new recoveries were also reported on the day and no new death due to the virus was recorded. The number of active cases in the State is now 358.

Of the active cases in the State, 267 are asymptomatic, 74 have mild symptoms, 9 have moderate symptoms requiring oxygen and 4 have severe symptoms requiring oxygen. 4 patients are in the ICU with 3 of them on ventilators. 

Meanwhile, the bulletin also informed that 28 patients are currently admitted at COVID hospitals while 310 patients are under home isolation. 

In terms of vaccination coverage in Nagaland, a total of 10,53,648 doses have been administered till September 30. Of this, 6,86,896 first doses and 3,66,752 second doses have been given. 

The Centre’s COWIN portal informed that 6,748 vaccine doses were administered in the State on September 30. The jabs were administered in 76 government and 2 private vaccination sites across Nagaland. 

The most amount of doses have been administered in Dimapur (3,73,203) followed by Kohima (1,68,782) and Mokokchung (1,11,181). Kiphire has the least amount of vaccination doses administered with 18,301.
