The meeting was chaired by Abhijit Sinha, IAS, Principal Secretary, Home Department, Government of Nagaland and attended by Ngachan Zimik, Deputy Director General (DDG), UIDAI Regional Office Guwahati, and Col Abhishek Koushik, Director, UIDAI Regional Office Guwahati, along with senior state government officials.

Officials from the Commissioner's office (Nodal Department), Directorate of Economics and Statistics, Department of Social Welfare, Department of Food and Civil Supplies, India Post, Common Services Centres (CSC), and the Lead Bank, Nagaland, also participated in the meeting, stated a press release received here.

Zimik and Col Koushik made a detailed presentation covering key aspects of Aadhaar, including its features and benefits, the new Aadhaar App, and the Offline Verification Seeking Entity (OVSE) registration process.

The meeting focused on accelerating Aadhaar enrolment for children in the 0–5 year age group through Birth Registration Based Aadhaar Enrolment (BRBAE) at district hospitals and health facilities using Birth Registration Numbers (BRN), as well as improving enrolment coverage in low-saturation districts.

Officials also discussed to identify the cause and bridge the gap between the numbers of overall Mandatory Biometric Update (MBU) pendency vs the number of students enrolled in UDISE+ Portal, and conduct Mission Mode Mandatory Biometric Update (MBU) camps in schools.

Other key issues taken up included digitisation of birth registrations, conversion of non-digitised Proof of Identity (POI) and Proof of Address (POA) documents issued by the state government, adoption of Aadhaar seeding and authentication for state-sponsored schemes to enable Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), and sharing of deceased persons' data with UIDAI.

Zimik informed the gathering that a new Aadhaar Seva Kendra is being established in Dimapur and is expected to become operational shortly.

Sinha complimented the UIDAI team for the assistance being rendered to the state and directed state officials to expedite Aadhaar enrolment and the conduct of MBU camps to cover all left-out residents and children.
