Nagaland: ANCSU lauds coaching guidelines, NSNC launch; urges prompt rollout

Kohima, December 3 (MExN): The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has expressed gratitude to the State Government and the Department of Higher and Technical Education for launching the Nagaland Scholarship Nodal Cell (NSNC) and introducing regulation and guidelines for coaching institutes in the State.

In a statement issued by ANCSU President Kivika Yeptho and General Secretary Sotilo Tep, the union said the initiatives mark a significant step towards enhancing transparency, accountability, and quality within Nagaland’s education system.

ANCSU noted that the measures follow its earlier representations, memorandum, and ultimatum to the Government seeking the creation of a separate scholarship nodal cell and regulatory mechanisms for coaching centres.

The union commended the Chief Minister and the HD Department for what it termed a commitment to safeguarding students’ interests, streamlining scholarship processes, and strengthening standards for coaching institutes.

While acknowledging the developments, ANCSU appealed to the concerned authorities to operationalise the NSNC at the earliest and ensure its effectiveness, transparency, and proper disbursement of scholarship schemes.

It further urged all coaching institutes to comply with the newly approved guidelines.

The union added that it will remain vigilant on these developments and continue to advocate for the welfare and interests of the student community.
