KOHIMA, DECEMBER 22 (MExN): The Nagaland Basketball Association (NBA) has announced the selection of the state’s men’s team for the 75th Senior National Basketball Championship. The tournament is scheduled to take place from January 4 – 11 in Chennai.
According to a press release from the NBA Honorary Secretary, Sentiningsang Longkumer, a panel of NBA coaches and officials finalised the list of players following selection trials conducted at the Don Bosco Basketball Court on December 8. The Men’s team members are: Thejangulie Mekro (Captain), Salew Kadete (Vice-Captain), Neisezo Theunuo, Benhilo Lorin, Cuwe Mero, Keneizelhou Kevin Tale, Nukshizulu Pongen, Alirenba Aier L, Sharman Lama, Reo Mero, Kezevituo Suokhrie, and Shanchothung Jungio.
Seyievizo Kire will serve as the coach, with Neichutuo Rutsa appointed as manager.
The selected teams will undergo training and preparation in Kohima under the supervision of NBA officials. The contingent is scheduled to depart for Chennai on December 30. The release stated that the championship features teams from various states across the country.
