Dimapur, April 28 (MExN): The BJP Mahila Morcha organised a Mahila Jan Aakrosh Padyatra (Torch March) in Dimapur on Tuesday, raising issues related to women’s rights, dignity and equal representation.
According to a press release issued by the BJP Nagaland Media Cell, the programme was held under the theme “Her Seat, Her Right, Her Time,” highlighting the demand for greater inclusion of women in governance and public life.
The torch march was flagged off by Sanuo Ngullie.
Addressing the gathering, Tsachola Rothrong said women’s reservation is not a matter of charity but a rightful claim.
She urged women across Nagaland to raise their voices, participate actively in the democratic process and work collectively to secure their place in decision-making bodies.
State leaders, members of the Mahila Morcha and supporters also participated in the padyatra, expressing solidarity and commitment towards strengthening women’s voices in society.
The programme also sought to promote awareness, unity and collective action for the advancement of women in the state, the release stated.
