Nagaland bye-election: Khaseo Anar is Congress’ candidate for 60 Pungro-Kiphire AC 

Dimapur, October 13 (MExN): The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has announced Khaseo Anar as its candidate for the bye-election to 60 Pungro-Kiphire Assembly constituency scheduled on November 3. 

Anar is currently the president of the District Congress Committee, Kiphire.  

Accordingly, a ticket distribution programme was held today at Congress Bhawan, Dimapur, where he was formally handed over the party ticket. More details are awaited.

The bye-election to 60 Pungro-Kiphire AC was necessitated to fill the casual vacancy after the demise of incumbent legislator Late T Torechu of Naga People’s Front on December 16, 2019. 

Besides, the bye-election the 14 Southern Angami-1 AC is scheduled on the same day to fill the vacancy left by Late Vikho-o Yhoshü, the former Nagaland Assembly, who passed away on December 30, 2019. He was Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) legislator.

The last date for filing of nominations for the seats is October 16 while the last date for withdrawal is October 19. 

Other political parties in the State are yet to officially announce their candidates.
