Nagaland: Candidates missing HSLC or HSSLC exams due to COVID-19 can reappear, informs NBSE

Kohima, April 22 (MExN): Those candidates who have failed to appear either HSLC or HSSLC exam 2021 due to COVID-19 can sit for re-test subject to fulfillment of certain conditions, the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) informed today. 

It is given being implemented as a one-time measure to ensure that those candidates are not deprived of appearing the HSLC and HSSLC Examination 2021, the State DIPR reported citing an official NBSE’s notification.

The eligibility for re-examination, however, is dependent on fulfillment of certain conditions.   

Among others, those who could not appear the examinations in some subject(s) “on being tested COVID-19 positive shall be allowed to reappear their examination,” the Board said. 

“Students who had to go for COVID-19 testing and missed the examination but are in possession of COVID-19 Negative report shall also be allowed,” it said. 

A COVID-19 positive candidate on being tested negative again shall be allowed to sit for the subject(s) which he/she could not appear earlier after producing a COVID-19 Negative report duly certified by the Medical Department, Government of Nagaland, it added. 

To sit for the re-test, the NBSE informed that the candidates have to officially apply to the Board “stating the subject(s) which they intend to appear along with a photocopy of their Admit Card.” 

The application of the student shall be duly forwarded by the respective Centre Superintendent of the Examination Centres of HSLC/HSSLC 202, it said. 

For HSLC examination, the application should be submitted within April 28 while for HSSLC, the application should be submitted within May 5. 

Meanwhile, the NBSE further informed that no fees shall be realised for those fulfilling the eligible criteria for the re-examination. 

The examination dates and centre shall be notified later, it said. 

The Board also directed all Centre Superintendents and Heads of Institutions to disseminate the information to the students. 

The One-time Examination shall be conducted strictly adhering to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) issued by the Government on March 12, conduct of HSLC & HSSLC Examination 2021, it added. 

The High School Leaving Certificate Exam (HSLC) started on April 7 and concluded on April 21 while the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC), which began on April 6 will conclude on April 29.
