Nagaland to celebrate Intl Youth Day

Kohima | August 10 : A nascent event management group- Neo Sirkel is all set to organize “Flair Fusion” to mark the International Youth Day on August 12 in the state capital. Disclosing this to media persons here at Dream Café, Neo- Sirkel team said the day will be marked by singing, dance and slogan contest. It will be held under the theme “Youth should be given a chance to take an active part in the decision-making of local, national and global levels.”
The programme will start from 2:30 pm at the TT Stadium Kohima. There will be free entry and the organizer invited all the concerned to join the celebration. There will be open music and dance contest, in which, the organizer invited all the interested bands, musicians, dancers to join the contest. The winner will pocket to Rs. 7000 where the runners up will carry a cash prize of Rs. 5000 along with certificates. Topic for slogan contest will be “What if I were tested HIV positive” which is opened to all. Rs. 1000 and Rs. 500 have been set for Ist & 2nd prize respectively.
Blood donation will also be part of the programme, in which Neo- Sirkel appealed to the people to come forward and be part of this humanitarian service. The occasion is being supported by Nagaland State AIDS Control Society. Neo- Sirkel was formed last month in Kohima. Mention may be made that, International Youth Day is the best time to commemorate the power and strength of the youth all around the globe. International Youth Day is celebrating every year on 12th August since 1999. United Nations defined an event for highlighted awareness on the requirements of young people in the middle of 10 to 24 years. The aim of International Youth Day is to endorse consciousness, particularly among youth. The World Programme of Action for Youth is started before 2000. The World Programme of Action wants to achievement in 10 main fields.
The 10 fields are starvation, poverty, education, employment, health, drug exploitation, childhood felony, recreation events, Child and young women, Environment. The International Youth Day suggests that regional, countrywide and worldwide implements the Programme. The United Nations marked out the youth, the age between 15 to 24 years. This is one sixth of the global populace. The youth will develop the countries to increase preciously in 21st century in all sides.
Many activities and events that take place around the world on International Youth Day promote the benefits that young people bring into the world. Many countries participate in this global event, which may include youth conferences on issues such as education and employment. Other activities include concerts promoting the world’s youth, as well as various sporting events, parades and mobile exhibitions that showcase young people’s achievements.

YCD to observe Intl & National Youth Day

Dimapur: Youngs’ Club Dimapur (YCD) informs that it will celebrate International & National Youth Day, with the universal theme “Participation, Development & Peace” on August 12, 2011 at 3:00 pm at Believers Church, Burma Camp. A press note issued by Akapu Awomi, community service coordinator, YCD stated that youths from different Church are participating. Lucy Akokla, president Rotary Club Dimapur, will be the guest speaker. Short message will be delivered by Rev. Fr. Hisenlo Kath, BCI, Jenpu Ringemi, president Youngs’ Club Dimapur will deliver the significance of International Youth day.
The note also informed that programme would also include special songs from different churches in extempore speech competition on the topic “Youth responsible towards Drugs & HIV/AIDS” where the panel of judges will include Kathi Chishi, M.D Naga Traders Pvt Ltd, Raajellung Gonmei, social worker, Human Rights Law Network and Lochumlo Lotha, program manager, Bethesda Youth Welfare Centre.
