Nagaland celebrates Go Skate Day

For the first time, Nagaland skateboard community in Kohima today observed Go Skate Day at Raj Bhavan area, Kohima.

Around 32 skaters from Kohima turned up.

Today’s skaters meet aim to promote skateboarding in Nagaland.

Nagaland Skateboard community is a group of friends who came together to promote the skateboarding culture.

Although we are still starting now we hope to continue and enjoy this extreme sport, said one of the members.

Go Skateboarding Day is an annual promotional event organized by the International Association of Skateboard Companies (IASC).

It grew from the All Star City Skate Jam held by Kerel ‘SriKala’ Roach and Bryan Chin in 2002 in New York City, and was renamed Go Skate Day in 2004.
