Nagaland CEO on webcasting/offline videography

KOHIMA, FEBRUARY 23 (MExN): The office of the Chief Electoral Officer has issued guidelines regarding webcasting for the ensuing Nagaland Legislative Assembly Election scheduled on February 27.

A press release from the Nagaland CEO informed that CCTV surveillance shall be installed in all the critical/vulnerable polling stations across the State with either Webcasting or Videography. A minimum of 50% of polling stations in each district are being covered. 

The camera will be mounted in the Polling Station at sufficient height and it shall be so placed to cover the maximum possible area in the polling station without compromising the secrecy of vote. 

The camera will clearly capture and transmit the following aspects of the poll proceedings - the Mock Poll, Process of identification of voter by Polling Officer, Application of indelible ink on the finger of the voter. 

Initialisation of control unit of EVM by Presiding Officer after satisfactory identification of voter, Voter’s visit to voting compartment for casting vote on the balloting unit of EVM, but without showing cover face of Ballot Unit/VVPAT so that the voter’s secrecy is preserved under all conditions.
