Nagaland Churches jointly appeal for prayer & fasting

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 7 (MExN): The leaders of different Christian denomination met at the NBCC Conference Room on August 2, 2012 to “deepen their relationship with each other and to work together towards fulfillment of their mission of common witness, proclamation and service”. As an outcome of the meeting it was decided to observe the All Nagaland Churches’ Day of Fasting and Prayer, a statewide fasting and prayer program on August 25, 2012 beginning from 6:00 AM to 12:00 Noon in all the Churches. This was stated in a joint press note issued by all the denominational Church leaders. 

The joint statement called upon “every Christian to seriously seek God’s will through repentance”. “At this juncture, the Naga people desperately need God’s intervention, enlightenment and direction. Therefore, all the respective Church organizations, associations and local churches are earnestly requested to take this program seriously and plan with much prayer”, it stated.
The press appeal was signed by Rev, Dr. L. Anjo Keikung General Secretary Nagaland Baptist Church Council, Rev. Dr. Thupu-O Nyekha, Presbyter, Assembly of God, Nagaland, Rev. Fr. N. Carolus Vicar General, Catholic Church, Nagaland, Mr. K. Khyomo Lotha, Vice President Nagaland Pentecostal Church Council and Rev. Dr. Paphino, President Nagaland Christian Revival Church.
