Nagaland CM basks in success of Hornbill Fest 2019

KOHIMA, DECEMBER 11 (MExN): Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, basking in the glory of  the “overwhelming success” of the Hornbill Festival 2019, today extended his appreciation to all for those involved in the achievement.

“This year's festival has been an overwhelming success with a record number of tourists and visitors from different parts of the world,” Rio stated in a congratulatory message. The most welcome aspect was the positive participation of the local tourists and the local population - the citizens of Nagaland who came out in large numbers to participate and support all the hundreds of different events,” he said. 

From the inaugural programme to the closing ceremony, the overall conduct and organization of all aspects of the festival has significantly improved and the events were indeed impressive, he added.

Rio also called for continued efforts to “constantly improve upon our shortcomings and learn from experiences so that together with the people of Nagaland who are the real stakeholders- we take the festival to new heights on a global scale.”

The CM’s message, issued through the DIPR, also conveyed appreciation of the Nagaland Government to tribal Hohos, event management groups, NGOs and all the Government Departments “who have worked together in coordinated manner to make the Hornbill Festival 2019 a grand success."

“I take this opportunity to convey the appreciation and gratitude of the State Government to the people of Nagaland, especially the youth for the tremendous support and the positive energy that was so evident during the 10-day festival.”

“We must also appreciate all the guests, friends and tourists who come from different parts of the globe and continue to be our ambassadors. We are glad they all came,” he added.
