Kohima, January 28 (MExN): Nagaland Chief Minister Dr Neiphiu Rio has expressed “deep shock and profound sorrow” over the tragic demise of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in a plane crash.
In a condolence message, Dr Rio said the “devastating” crash near Baramati earlier today had “plunged Maharashtra and the entire nation into deep mourning, leaving an indelible void in India's public life.”
The CM described Pawar as a “seasoned leader whose commitment to governance, development, and public welfare earned him respect across political and social spectrums.” Dr Rio said Pawar's “decades of service to the state of Maharashtra and to the country will be remembered with deep respect and appreciation.”
“On behalf of the Government and the people of Nagaland, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, the Government and people of Maharashtra, and all those who mourn his untimely passing,” he said.
“In this hour of grief, our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones, and we stand in solidarity with the people of Maharashtra as they bear this immense loss,” Rio added.
