Nagaland constitutes State High Level Committee for CM’s Technology Hub

Kohima, April 8 (MExN): The Department of Information Technology and Communication (IT&C), Nagaland, has informed that the Governor of Nagaland has constituted a State High Level Committee (SHLC) for the Chief Minister’s Technology Hub (CM Hub) in the state in the interest of public service.

The CM Hub will function as a high-level platform under the Chief Minister of Nagaland to drive the adoption and innovation of information technology, electronics and new-age niche technologies across the state.

According to the notification, the Chief Minister will serve as Chairman of the committee, while the Advisor, IT&C will be the Deputy Chairman. Other members include the Advisor to the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, Commissioner & Secretary, IT&C, Public Relations Officer to the Chief Minister, a co-opted member of the Chairman, and the Commissioner & Secretary to the Chief Minister.

The SHLC will act as the policy apex and strategic oversight body, tasked with formulating and recommending policies related to IT and emerging technologies. It will also identify, prioritise and conceptualise niche technology projects and initiatives, and pursue funding from Government of India schemes, grants and other external sources.

Further, the committee will facilitate inter-departmental coordination for technology-driven projects, monitor their progress through periodic reporting, and provide advisory inputs on technology adoption and innovation.

The SHLC will meet quarterly to review strategy, policy decisions and the status of projects under the CM Hub.

A Programme Management Unit (PMU) will also be set up, comprising consultants with domain expertise in information technology, electronics and niche technologies, along with technical teams from the IT&C department. The PMU will function under the administrative supervision of the department and submit monthly progress and risk reports to the governing body.

The Department of Information Technology and Communication will act as the nodal department and the sole executing and monitoring agency for the CM Hub. No separate salary or honorarium will be provided to members or co-opted members of the committee.

The provisions of the Nagaland Rules of Executive Business, 2020, will be followed in the implementation of the initiative.
