Nagaland to contribute towards Japan quake victims

Kohima, April 13 (DIPR): Nagaland will be contributing a total amount of Rs. 8,18,755/- (eight lakhs, eighteen thousand, seven hundred and fifty five only, towards the Japan earthquake-Tsunami victims. Several musicians from Nagaland had joined the concert in aid of 2011 Japan Earthquake-Tsunami that held at the Local Ground, Kohima on 1st April 2011. Music Task Force under the Department of Youth Resources & Sports, Nagaland had coordinated the concert ‘Nagaland Contributes,’ in aid of the Japan earthquake-Tsunami victims that hit Japan on March 11, 2011.  Project Director, Music Task Force, Gugs Chishi said that the amount collected from this concert will be sent to Japanese Embassy, New Delhi and added that donation counter in favor of “Nagaland Contributes” has been officially closed. He also said that along with the bank draft, the State would also be presenting a documentary of the concert.
Among the many artistes/musicians who performed at the concert included Methaneilie, Alemtemshi Jamir, Cotton Country, Emilo Patton, Sharyn Chang, OFF, Divine Connection, XTC, Dementia, De Band, Ebenezer Band, Chakhesang Church Choir, NBCC Male Choir, children from the Ao Baptist Church, Rengma male voices, Kenie Chale of NSACS brand ambassador 2010, Topeni Nagaland Idol 2009, Menguse-u, Shurhoseilie, Alobo, Dr. Nicky Kire, MLA and many others.
