Nagaland COVID-19 tally reaches 916

14 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the state on July 16, taking the State’s tally to 916.


According to State Health Minister Pangnyu Phom, out of the 14 fresh cases, 12 were from Dimapur while 2 were reported from Kohima.


Meanwhile, 43 COVID-19 patients from Peren were reported to have recovered on Thursday. They will be kept under strict surveillance, Pangnyu informed. In addition, Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung reported 2 recoveries in the district.


With this, the total recovery on July 16 was 393 while the number of active cases in the State was reduced to 523.


Dimapur District has the highest number of active cases with 339, while Peren has 236 and Kohima has 184, according to the Nagaland COVID-19 bulletin.


Meanwhile, the Department of Health and Family Welfare informed that 45 more standalone ventilators have been installed in the 11 District Hospitals in addition to the existing ventilators in the State. “This addition will help further in tackling the COVID-19 pandemic the State,” it stated.
