Nagaland COVID-19 update
All 613 samples test negative
Kohima, April 26 (MExN): A total of 613 samples sent from Nagaland for COVID-19 testing have come back negative as of 3:00pm, April 26.
Principal Secretary, Home, Abhijit Sinha today informed that the results of all these samples have been received and all are negative. Presently a total of 36 persons are under facility quarantine.
With regard to the surveillance activities being carried out in the containment zone in Dimapur in connection with the COVID-19 positive person of Dimapur detected in Guwahati, a total of 5,667 persons have been interviewed, covering 1005 households. Further in connection with the same positive case, a total of 427 samples have been sent from the State for testing and all have tested negative.
Sinha meanwhile reiterated that several more categories of shops have been allowed to operate during the lockdown. The Deputy Commissioners have been asked to issue orders and directions regarding the same for their respective districts after taking into consideration the local conditions.
He however said that all necessary arrangements should be made at all the shops being allowed to open for ensuring social distancing, and adherence to all the necessary health safety protocols.
Meanwhile, the Principal Secretary said that the position of availability of food grains, medicines, POL and other essential commodities continue to be normal in the State.
He urged all to continue adhering to the lockdown measures.
Sinha informed that groceries and other food shops including milk shops were open in all the districts except in Wokha, Mokokchung, Longleng and Kiphire.
He said that suitable arrangements have been made for providing food, shelter to migrant workers affected by restriction in four active relief camps where 439 migrant labourers are housed. More than 700 daily wagers needy persons were provided food and relief from 3 food Camps, the Principal Secretary added.
He further informed that there was no recorded violations of lockdown and curfew orders on April 26.
