In an effort to expand the reach of darts across Nagaland, the Nagaland Dart Association (NDA) introduced the game at Khonheche Café, Zunheboto on June 14.

To commemorate the launch in Zunheboto, a coaching programme was held at Khonheche Café, where four trained members from the Association conducted a session introducing locals to the fundamentals of the game. Participants were briefed on the history of darts, the rules of play, scoring methods, and proper throwing techniques. The session also included practical demonstrations and interactive practice rounds to help attendees get hands-on experience.

Speaking at the event, representatives from the Nagaland Dart Association emphasized the importance of developing a sporting culture in Nagaland, especially in rural and semi-urban areas where opportunities for exposure to niche sports like darts are limited. They expressed hope that the initiative would inspire young people to engage with the sport, both recreationally and competitively.

Nagaland Dart Association, a government-registered organization, was established in 2013 with the vision of promoting darts as both a recreational activity and a competitive sport. What began humbly with just two to three enthusiasts gathering at a café in Kohima has grown into a state-wide movement over the past 13 years.
