Kohima, August 23 (MExN): A delegation from the Nagaland government, including representatives from the Department of Industries & Commerce and the Nagaland Tool Room & Training Centre (NTTC) led by Director P. Tokugha Sema, visited Bharat Forge Ltd. in Pune on August 22.
The primary aim was to further solidify their existing partnership, which focused on advanced manufacturing and Industry 4.0 initiatives, stated a DIPR report.
The team visited several of Bharat Forge facilities, including the forging plant, which is the largest single-location facility of its kind worldwide. It's noteworthy for its fully automated press lines and state-of-the-art manufacturing processes. The delegates also explored the company’s advanced AI laboratories, gaining valuable insights into the technologies that are transforming the production of high-performance, safety-critical components used across diverse sectors like automotive, aerospace, defence, railways, and marine.
This visit formally recognised Bharat Forge's crucial role in establishing the Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Industry 4.0 at NTTC, Dimapur.
The Centre was inaugurated by Chief Minister Dr Neiphiu Rio on April 25, 2025. The CoE was brought to life through a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative by Bharat Forge, in partnership with SimuSoft Technologies and NTTC, and it is already actively contributing to skills development in Nagaland and neighbouring states in the region.
The delegation, mainly composed of technocrats involved in this collaborative program, found the interaction to be exceptionally productive and insightful. The discussions were centered on expanding the partnership to increase practical training opportunities, accelerate technology transfer, and equip Nagaland’s youth with the necessary skills for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
Director P Tokugha Sema expressed gratitude, stating, “We are profoundly grateful to Bharat Forge Ltd. and Baba N. Kalyani, Chairman and MD of Bharat Forge, the flagship company of the Kalyani Group, for their forward-thinking support in establishing the Centre of Excellence at NTTC.”
“This visit has strengthened our collaboration and ignited renewed efforts to leverage cutting-edge technologies for Nagaland’s industrial advancement” he added.
