Kohima, June 16 (MExN): National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP) conducted the 1st quarter review meeting at the IDSP Conference Hall, Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Kohima on June 16. It was attended by Districts TB Officers and WHO Consultants.
Making a presentation on State Performance, Dr Collins Z Sono, WHO Medical Consultant informed that as per the district wise TB score for the state of Nagaland for the first quarter (January-March 2022) which is based on nine indicators (success rate, UDST, Notification rate, HIV known status etc) Kiphire district stood first with 90 marks followed by Mokokchung district with 84 mark and third begged by Mon district 80 mark. “Tuensang district is the worst performing district,” Dr Collins stated.
According to a press release from the State TB Officer, Dr Collins also presented that Kiphire district has screened more than 3000 presumptive TB followed by Longleng district screening more than 2000 in the first quarter January-March 2022. He encouraged the district to increase the screening on presumptive TB.
Dr Collins also mentioned that from 1st quarter January-March 2022, notification achievement is 87% which districts like Dimapur, Kiphire and Mon has achieved whereas Peren, Phek and Tuensang need to increase. Success rate is 83% and HIV known status for TB patients is 96%, he added.
Earlier, State TB Officer, Dr Tiasunup Pongener welcomed all the attendees and encouraged DTOs and staff to put more efforts for TB Elimination.

Dr Palsah Talukdar, WHO Medical Consultant stressed on community support for TB Patients and ensure patients consent to be taken, Agenda for discussion like Nikshay Mitra, district strategic plan, ACSM, Multisectoral Co-ordination, Nikshay Aushadhi, Engagement of service Providers(NGOs) and Newer Initiative were discussed during meeting.
