Assures to strengthen forensic & investigative infra
KOHIMA, November 6 (MExN): Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton today hailed the Kohima Police and its Special Investigation Team (SIT) for solving the case related to the tragic death22-year-old young basketball player in Kohima. The victim, identified by police as Vihozhonu Zao, was found dead on October 25.
In a statement, Patton acknowledged the dedicated work of the SIT, led by Additional SP K Soriso Quinker, which he said worked with focus and coordination to uncover the truth behind what was initially a difficult and unclear case.
The systematic investigation and professional approach of the SIT resulted in the identification and arrest of the accused, bringing clarity to a matter that deeply affected the community, he said.
Patton also expressed his appreciation to SP Kohima Khrodi Rhetso and every officer involved in the investigation for upholding the principles of duty and integrity.
He recognised the importance of the team’s perseverance and the cooperation extended by the public, which he stated helped ensure that the process remained fair and transparent.
The Deputy CM also assured that the government remains committed to strengthening forensic and investigative infrastructure in the State so that future cases can be handled with even greater efficiency.
He also called upon citizens to continue supporting law enforcement agencies through timely sharing of information and public vigilance.
Patton also extended his condolences to the bereaved family and reaffirmed that justice will take its course.
