Nagaland: Expedite investigation into ‘mysterious deaths’ in Delhi

Kohima, June 29 (MExN): Nagaland Additional Chief Secretary (CS) and Chief Resident Commissioner, Nagaland House, New Delhi, Jyoti Kalash has written to the Additional Commissioner of Police, PERS, SPUNER, New Delhi requesting for prompt investigation into the mysterious death of two individuals at Gurugram on June 24. The family of the deceased are reportedly settled in Nagaland.

According to a DIPR report, Kalash stated that a lady named Rosy Sangma died in Alpha Hospital, Sec-10 Gurugram on June 24, after allegedly consuming ice-cream while she was in the ICU.  Samuel Sangma, brother of the deceased lady, was also found dead in a hotel at Gurugram, where he was reportedly staying.

Terming both deaths as ‘mysterious in nature’ Kalash said that the father of late Samuel Sangma has narrated the entire incident, in which he has reportedly given the reference of a video made by his brother-in-law during the altercation between Samuel Sangma and the doctors/nurses in the hospital.

He also said that the said video recording has been going viral on social media and that the incident is “very shocking and disturbing.”

Kalash added that it questions the safety and security of the North East people in Delhi/Gurugram.

The Additional CS stated that the Nagaland Government has expressed deep anguish over the incident, which may cause unrest in Nagaland, in particular and in the entire North East, in general.

As such, he requested the Additional Commissioner of Police, being in-charge of SPUNER, to expedite the investigation and bring out the truth behind the mysterious deaths and submit a detailed investigation report to his office for submission to the Government of Nagaland at the earliest.
