Nagaland facing constraints in revenue resources

Kohima, April 19 (MExN): MLA and Deputy Chairman, State Planning Board, Deo Nukhu today stated that there was a constraint in revenue resources in the state.

It is impossible to generate revenue unless we have some major projects, Nukhu said while participating in the question and answer session of the orientation programme for legislators here.

The investment for a single project uses touches Rs. 1000 crores or more in other parts of the country but it does not happen in Nagaland. Nukhu stated that it was impossible to expect to do great things with the little money.

During the session, he asked former union minister Arun Shourie whether the centre has any possibility to take up a project of multi national companies in the state. To Nukhu’s reading, such companies will not only contribute to the growth of the state revenue but also generate gainful employment to the youth.
