Nagaland GBs condemn Inavi village incident

DIMAPUR, JULY 11 (MExN): The Nagaland GB Federation, after a proper inquiry to the 30th June incident, vehemently condemned killing of GB and chairman of Inavi village by unidentified armed group. “The GB Federation as its duty bound shall protect the interest of the GBs of all tribes regardless of whether a village is recognized by the state government or not”, stated a press note issued by K. C. Zhenito Yeputhomi President, Nagaland GB Federation.  While condemning the killing, the Federation also expressed shock over the action of district administration for burying the death body against the customary practice and wishes of the deceased family, which is termed as barbarism.
“Setting up of fact finding committee to the incident to submit its report within 30 days itself is a deviation from the norms and policies of the day as it has directly or indirectly given 30 days to the culprits to escape from being arrested”, the press note stated.   Therefore while appealing to the state government to apprehend the criminals at the earliest the Federation urged the government to give reasons as to why the culprits could not be arrested till today.
