Nagaland government college principals converge to ‘Envision, Inspire, Excel’

Kohima, September 23 (MExN): The two-day government colleges’ principal conference cum training organized by the department of Higher Education commenced at conference hall, Directorate of Higher Education, Kohima. The conference cum training will be held under a theme ‘Envision, Inspire, Excel’ on September 23 and 24, stated a DIPR report. 

Commissioner & Secretary, Higher & Technical Education, W Honje Konyak, in his welcome address appreciated the initiative taken by the department and hoped that the conference cum training will regenerate the commitment and responsibility in all. He stated that principals are not just mere teachers but represents the Department and the Government, their performance reflects the face of the department as well as the Government. He appealed to them to enforce the rules and regulations in the field under their own jurisdiction. Honje called upon them to realize their responsibilities as they play an important role in molding the future of the society, are accountable for the smooth functioning of routine activities and recognizes the teaching and learning priority of their institutions.

On the first day, the resource person was Sr Accounts Officer Department of Education and Department of Health & Family Welfare, Zubenthung Murry who spoke on the topic ‘Training on Accounts and role of DDO.’ On the second day the resource persons will be Prof N Das, Department of English, Nagaland University and R Andreas under Secretary to the GoN, Department of Economics & Statistics. They will be speaking on the topic ‘API Assessment’ and ‘Office procedures’ respectively.

The inaugural session was chaired by Commissioner & Secretary, Higher & Technical Education, W Honje Konyak. Vote of thanks was delivered by Director Higher Education, Dr Apeni Lotha.
