Nagaland Governor, CM extend Metümnyo greetings

Kohima, August 7 (MExN): Nagaland Governor La Ganesan and Chief Minister Dr Neiphiu Rio today extended greetings to the Yimkhiung community and the people of Nagaland on the occasion of the harvest festival, Metümnyo.

This festival, celebrated with gratitude and reverence, reflects the rich cultural heritage of the Yimkhiung tribe, honouring the departed souls and seeking blessings for peace, harmony, and prosperity, the Governor said in his message. He further stated that Metümnyo is a time for fostering unity, reconciliation, and strengthening bonds of friendship among families and communities.

“May this festive occasion bring happiness, good health, and abundant blessings to all, and may the spirit of togetherness continue to guide us towards harmony and progress,” Ganesan added.

Sending greetings to the Yimkhiung community, CM Rio posted on X, “As we celebrate this vibrant harvest festival, may it be a time to honour our rich cultural heritage, strengthen family bonds, and foster peace and harmony.
