Dimapur, August 15 (MExN): Nagaland Governor La. Ganesan passed away on Friday while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Chennai. He was 80. Following his demise, several messages and tributes have poured in expressing condolences.
NGBF: Nagaland Gaonburas Federation (NGBF) expressed shock and grief over the sudden demise of Nagaland Governor La Ganesan in Chennai. The NGBF said it had met him on a few occasions and described him as a “kind and straightforward” person. “In his short stay in Nagaland as Governor, he rendered his services to the people in the best possible manner. In his demise, we have lost a great leader and a statesman,” the federation said.
NPP Nagaland: National People’s Party (NPP) Nagaland and all its frontal organizations expressed grief over the demise of Governor La Ganesan, describing his passing as “a loss not only to Nagaland but to the entire nation.” In a condolence message, NPP Nagaland president and party rank and file remembered Ganesan as “a statesman of exceptional integrity” whose leadership was marked by “humility, wisdom and unwavering commitment to public service.” The party noted that during his tenure as Governor, Ganesan “worked tirelessly to uphold unity, peace and progress,” earning widespread respect and affection of the people he served. His ability to connect with people across sections and dedication to Nagaland’s welfare would remain a lasting inspiration, it added. Standing in solidarity with the bereaved family, the NPP prayed for divine strength for them and wished for the departed soul's eternal peace.
NU: Nagaland University expressed deep sadness over the demise of La Ganesan, Governor of Nagaland and Chief Rector of the university. Vice Chancellor Prof Jagadish Kumar Patnaik conveyed profound sorrow, remembering Ganesan as “a dedicated statesman whose unwavering commitment to public service and education left a lasting impact on the university and the state” The university stated that as Chief Rector, Ganesan provided “invaluable guidance and support” to its academic and administrative community, adding that his “vision, wisdom and encouragement played a vital role in shaping the institution's growth.” The Nagaland University fraternity extended deepest condolences to the bereaved family and joined the nation in mourning the “loss of a distinguished leader.”
UNDP: United Naga Democratic Party (UNDP) expressed grief over the demise of Nagaland Governor La Ganesan, describing him as a leader who served with “dignity, humility and unwavering commitment” to the state's welfare. In a condolence message, the party said Ganesan's tenure was marked by his “approachable nature” that earned him respect across all sections of society. The UNDP acknowledged his contributions in “strengthening governance and fostering inter-community harmony” in the state. Nagaland has lost not just a constitutional head but a compassionate leader whose dedication will be long remembered, it stated. Extending solidarity with the bereaved family, the party prayed for divine comfort during this difficult time and for the departed soul's eternal peace.
WSSU: Western Sumi Students’ Union (WSSU) expressed deep sorrow over the untimely demise of Nagaland Governor La Ganesan, describing his life as one marked by “unwavering dedication, integrity, and a deep commitment to public service.” In a condolence message, WSSU said Ganesan’s “humility, wisdom, and steadfast leadership left an indelible mark on the people of Nagaland.” It said, “His guidance and encouragement will be fondly remembered and cherished.” Extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, the WSSU said it stands in solidarity with them in this time of grief.
