Nagaland Govt declares June 26 as paid holiday

Kohima, June 19 (MExN): In view of the forthcoming urban local bodies (ULBs) elections, the Governor of Nagaland has declared June 26 as paid holiday for all the State Government employees in the municipal and town council areas of the districts going to polls.

It also applies to all categories of employees ordinarily residing in one area but having the place of work in another area, stated a notification from the Home Department. 

The day has been declared to enable the employees to participate and exercise their franchise, it said. 

In addition, the polling day has also been declared paid holiday for all employees of banks and financial institutions in the municipal and town council areas under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 (Act, XXVI) to enable them to exercise their franchise, it added.
