Kohima, March 24 (MExN): The Government of Nagaland has identifies eleven Aspirational Blocks in the State. The Planning Department will act as Nodal Department at the State Level.
According to a DIPR report, at the state level, a Committee headed by Chief Secretary will monitor and review the progress of implementation of various activities.
At the District level, the Deputy Commissioner will head the District Level Committee with the District Planning Officer as Member Secretary. The DPDB shall select the Aspirational Block Committee members as per their requirement.
The District Level Aspirational Block Committee will prepare Five Year Action Plan for their respective Block wherein their priority including schemes under CSS will be incorporated and submit to DPDB for approval. This committee will supervise the implementation and review the progress of the activities, the DIPR report informed.
In the normal course, the plans and projects of Aspirational blocks will be implemented in convergence mode through the existing central and state programmes. However, in case of additional funding requirement, the Planning and Co-ordination Department will work out the same on need basis upto the maximum limit of Rs. 50 lakh for each Aspirational block, it added.
This has the approval of the Cabinet Vide No.CAB-2/2013 (Pt) dated Kohima, March 12, the DIPR report stated.
