Nagaland has second lowest Aadhar saturation

Over 40 per cent of the population in Nagaland do not have Aadhaar cards, according to latest data from the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). Aadhaar penetration in the state is just 59.29 per cent—the second lowest in the country after Meghalaya where only 58.61 per cent of the population is covered.

As per the Aadhar saturation report available on the UIDAI website, as on March 31, 2022, out of the projected total population of 22,13,000 (as per Registrar General and Census Commissioner of India data), only 13,12,085 Aadhaar cards have been assigned in Nagaland. 

Along with Meghalaya, the north-eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur also had significantly lower Aadhar saturation with 79.29 per cent and 79.95 per cent respectively.

On the contrary, four States—Goa, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, and Punjab, along with the union territories of Delhi and Lakshadweep have 100 per cent saturation, as per the data.
