Nagaland Inland Waterway projects put up to IWAI

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 19 (MExN): Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Chairman of Nagaland Inland Waterway Board (NIWB), K.G. Kenye accompanied with OSD of NIWB, Thomas put up Inland Waterway projects in the State of Nagaland to the Inland Waterway Authority of India (IWAI) at New Delhi on September 17.  

A press release issued by PRO to MP Rajya Sabha informed that the MP and OSD had a fruitful meeting with the Director General of Ministry of Shipping, Shenkar and the Vice Chairman of IWAI, Pravir Pandey IA & AS on the issue.

It may be mentioned that three waterways in the State of Nagaland have been declared as National Waterway, namely, Tizu& Zungki, NW – 101, Dhansiri, NW-34 and Dikhu, NW-35. Out of three, Tizu & Zungki is under active consideration of IWAI, the press release stated.
