The Nagaland ISKA team that won an array of medals at the International Kickboxing Meet.
Kohima, January 26 (MExN): The Nagaland ISKA team participated in the ISKA Open International Kickboxing Championship held at Ballygunge Arena, Kolkata, from January 23 to 25 winning a total of one gold medal, seven silver medals, nine bronze medals, and one title belt.
The 11-member team was led by State Coach Israel G. Xuivi. The championship featured international officials and participants from the USA, Australia, Korea, and Ethiopia.
The medal winners from Nagaland were Atomika K. Kinimi, who won bronze in Point Sparring (30–35 kg) and bronze in Traditional Form; Arkali K. Kinimi, who won bronze in Point Sparring (30–35 kg) and silver in Traditional Form; Ajukuvu K. Kinimi, who won silver in Point Sparring (15–20 kg); and Shihrazhio Aruo, who secured gold in Point Sparring (40–45 kg) and bronze in Traditional Form.
Puloto Chophy won bronze in Traditional Form, while Paul Zeliang secured silver in Traditional Form. Kivishe P. Swu won silver in Point Sparring (50–55 kg) and bronze in Traditional Form. Limachan Kendrick claimed silver in Point Sparring (45–49 kg) and bronze in Traditional Form.
Tokupu Xuivi Zhimomi won silver in K1 Light Kickboxing (65–70 kg), silver in Point Sparring (65–70 kg), and bronze in Traditional Form. Ahuto Chophy secured bronze in K1 Semi-Pro Kickboxing (65–70 kg).
Kulungshi Newmai emerged as champion in the K1 Kickboxing Semi-Pro category (52 kg), winning the title belt. He was also selected to represent India in the upcoming World Championship to be held in Spain.
In addition, Israel G. Xuivi was inducted as Vice President (Honorary) of ISKA India during the championship.
