Dimapur, January 11 (MExN): The Nagaland Karate Team won three medals at the 10th ISKF All India Karate-Do Championship, a national-level event held from January 9 to 11 at Kurseong in Darjeeling district of West Bengal.
According to the All Nagaland Karate-Do Association (ANKA), the medals included one gold and two silvers.
Atom Swami Singh secured a gold medal in Kata in the Cadet category (16 years, boys).
Huto K Yeptho won a silver medal in Kumite in the Senior Male category, while Tiabenla Jamir claimed a silver medal in Kata in the Senior Female category.
Nagaland contingent comprised three players along with officials, including T Lanu Imchen, Working President of ANKA and Vice President of the Nagaland Eskrima & Shotokan Karate-Do Federation of India (NESKFI), Rangwam Zeliang as team coach, and Akhonuo Angami as team manager.
The association also expressed gratitude to Sethrongkyu Sangtam, Advisor for IT & Communication, Economics & Statistics & Evaluation for providing financial support and encouragement to the team.
