The Ministerial Group on Petroleum & Natural Gas, constituted by Governor of Nagaland, will focus on the matter of Petroleum & Natural Gas in the undisputed areas of the state.
Nagaland’s Parliamentary Affairs and Power Minister, KG Kenye replied this to media persons during a press conference at Hotel Japfu, Kohima on July 25.
Last time, he said, many reactions came from different quarters when something connected to Petroleum & Natural Gas came to the state, which was to do with disputed area between Assam and Nagaland.
Stating that Nagaland has so much natural resources deposit in the petroleum and natural gas in the undisputed areas also, he said “so if we leave it as it is then we will be the losers.”
Stating that the state has no revenue, he said, so perhaps, government is trying to tap some revenue and use it for the development of the people.
Mentionably, a Ministerial Group on Petroleum & Natural Gas, notified on July 24, will be led by Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio as the Chairman and consist of Deputy CM, TR Zeliang; Minister Temjen Imna; Advisors Mhathung Yanthan, A Pangjung Jamir, and W Chingang Konyak as Advisors; and the Chief Secretary as Member Secretary.
