Nagaland: Meritorious students felicitated

Dimapur, July 24 (MExN): After the declaration of the board exam (Class X and XII) results by the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) in July 20, various schools on Saturday organized felicitation programmes for their meritorious students.

The 2nd Lt Rev Ivulho Shohe meritorious award for academic excellence sponsored and organized by Ashou Loji Aphuyemi was held at Hotel Seb Tower, Dimapur on July 24.

The Ashou Loji Aphuyemi has been organizing the programme since 2015 to felicitate NBSE HSLC toppers from among Sumi Aphuyemi (Pughoboto Area) members. 

Anguvili Swu from Don Bosco Higher Secondary School (DBHSS), daughter of Obed Bohovi Swu of Lazami, village who achieved the top 20 rank in HSLC exam 2021 became the second recipient of the award. The first recipient was Kitoka Assumi from Tsaphimi village in 2015.

Anguvili Swu shared her success story during the programme.

The award is accorded in remembrance of Lt Rev Ivulho Shohe of Ghokimi village who was one of the first Christian converts and also the first literate among the Sumis.

The invocation was pronounced by Father Xuvishe Swu, Pastor Believers church, Dimapur while welcome note was proposed by Samuel Shohe, Convenor, Ashou Loji, Aphuyemi.

Er Nagashe Swu, SDO, PWD (R&B) delivered the exhortation, Shikato Shohe, President Sumi Aphuyemi Kuqhakulu Dimapur (SAKD) shared a brief biopic of Lt Rev Ivulho Shohe and vote of thanks was proposed by Ngukato K Tsuipu.

CHSS: The HSLC and HSSLC 2021 toppers of Christian Higher Secondary School (CHSS) Dimapur were felicitated by the school administration on July 24.

The programme conducted at the Covenant Hall was attended by the toppers and their parents, administrative heads, teachers and the present class 12 students.

The HSLC toppers include Zahid Ahmed Laskar and Tabasum Talukdar while HSSLC toppers were Rasma Begum, Soni Gupta, Z Hushili Swu, Chubatola, Nupur Jain and Medhamahima Choudhury.

The programme was chaired by Vice Principal Patricia Zhimomi and prayers by teacher Renbeni and Chaplain Jolly. The Principal in his felicitation speech read out the message from School Managing Board chairman Rev Lamkhotong T Singson, besides encouraging the students to be consistent, humble, and humane and to carry the ‘light of the school’. The toppers shared their formula of success with their juniors.

GVBS: The HSLC felicitation programme for 2021 batch of Gamadi Vidya Bharati School (GVBS) Dhansiripar was organised at its Maibirum Gurukul Boys Hostel, GVBS Dhansiripar on July 24. All the students were presented a wrist watch and a certificate for their achievement. The same was also presented to students who did not get through the board exam. A handset worth Rs 10,000 was presented to Nusaing Girisa for securing highest marks in GVBS and distinction in 3 subjects. The handset was presented by Sona Devi Sethi Charitable Trust through Janjati Shiksha Samiti Nagaland, the state committee of GVBS by President Walenniba Jamir and Secretary Mangyangtula Jamir read out the congratulatory message from former Governor of Nagaland P B Acharya.

GBs, Chairpersons of village councils of Dhansiripar and neighbouring villages were present at the programme and guest of honour Kishore Jigdung dedicated Rs500 each student, the school informed.

Longleng: The district administration and Mahila Shakti Kendra Longleng organized a felicitation program for meritorious girl students of the recently declared HSLC and HSSLC examination 2021 at DC conference hall Longleng on July 24 under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) programme.

A total of 34 meritorious girl students under Longleng district were awarded with cash prize and meritorious certificate.
DC Longleng M Shayung Phom encouraged the students to work hard and have ambition in life. He also spoke on the importance of educating the girl child and appreciated the teachers for their contribution towards the success of the students.

Purtoshi, Education Secretary PSC Longleng congratulated and wished the students a brighter future.

Keynote address was delivered by Trongdiba Tongpi, SDO(C) Longleng who congratulated the students and also highlighted about the BBBP programme.

Special prayer for the students was offered by Tialemba Phom, Executive Secretary PBCA Longleng while the programme was chaired by Phungla Phom, WWO MSK Longleng.
