Nagaland: Namsang EAC HQ relocated to Yonglok area

Move aimed at strengthening administrative outreach: Nagaland CM

Longleng, January 13 (MExN): The headquarters of the Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC), Namsang Circle, has been relocated from Kongshong to the Yonglok area under Longleng district in a move described by Chief Minister Dr Neiphiu Rio as aimed at strengthening administrative outreach.

A formal programme marking the relocation was held at the Yonglok Village Community Hall on January 12, with Chief Minister Dr Neiphiu Rio attending as the Honoured Guest. 

Addressing the gathering, Dr Rio said the decision was taken in response to long-standing public representations and with the objective of strengthening administrative outreach in the area.

The relocation would help improve access to government services and facilitate more effective administration, he added.

As per the State DIPR, the Chief Minister also commended the people of Namsang for their active role in shaping the development of the area and expressed hope that the relocation would contribute to sustained growth, harmony and prosperity as the region embraces new opportunities.

Deputy CM, Y Patton, Legislatures B Bangtick Phom, A Pongshi Phom and Deputy Commissioner Longleng, W Manpai Phom also addressed the occasion.

Commissioner, Nagaland, Thejawelie Gregory; PRO to Chief Minister Rusemtong Longkumer; Asst. Chief Engineer (CAWD) Er Sungtiba Amer and OSD (Security) to Chief Minister, Melite Kapfo also attended the opening.
