Nagaland NCC Air Squadron receives two SW-80 aircrafts

Dimapur, SEPTEMBER 27 (MExN): The 1 Nagaland Air Squadron of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) has received two Virus SW-80 aircrafts from Slovenia.  

The aircraft has been parked at Dimapur airport and will be used for imparting flying training to Air Wing NCC Cadets of Nagaland.  

Commanding Officer of 1 Nagaland Air Squadron, Wing Commander Ganesh Sawant who has been posted recently at Dimapur is a qualified pilot on Virus SW-80 aircraft will be imparting flying training to NCC Cadets.  

While ground training for the cadets has already begun, flying has not commenced yet due to the non availability of tax link from the aircraft hangar to the runway.  

As per the inputs from AAI officials, work on taxi link will start only after monsoon.  

The SW-80 is a two-seater aircraft powered by a piston engine mainly used for basic flying training to the ab-initio pilots. The aircraft can fly up to 15000 ft with a cruising speed of 108 knots.
