DC Dimapur directs GBs, Chairmen
Dimapur, September 14 (MExN): DC Dimapur, Sushil Kumar Patel (IAS) in an order has directed all concerned GBs and Chairmen of villages and colonies under Dimapur district to refrain from issuing the following documents to any individuals under their respective villages and colonies - Permanent Residential Certificate, Birth Certificate, Indigenous Inhabitant Certificate, and Schedule Tribe and Caste Certificate. The Dimapur DC has cautioned that non-compliance of the order would attract penalty under the relevant provisions of law.
AR apprehends one NSCN (K) cadre
Kohima, September 14 (MExN): “Based on specific inputs received regarding move of suspected cadre” the Kiphire battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) established a Mobile Vehicle Check Post at Pungro-Chomi Road 2 km from Pungro towards Chomi along with a police representative on September 13. According to PRO, Kohima the suspect was apprehended around 7:30 pm with illegal arms and ammunition. The individual was identified as Yimkiumong, Regional Council Member of NSCN (K) (Civil Wing), 38 years, a resident of Pongrong Village, Kiphire District. Recovery from the individual included one point 32 mm Pistol, a magazine and five live rounds. The apprehended along with recovered items was handed over to Pungro Police Station for further investigation, the PRO added.
Dimapur Police nabs extortionist, seizes narcotics
Dimapur, September 14 (MExN): The Mobile Unit of Dimapur Police has arrested one person identified as Izuto Zhimo (31 yrs) P/A. Kiyezu Village R/o Kuhoboto for extorting money from a truck near Dhansiri Bridge. According to PRO, the accused later forcibly took out an LED TV from the truck and tried to flee when the police intercepted him. In this connection a case has been registered at East Police Station for further investigation. Dimapur Police DCSB team carried out surveillance duty at SD Jain College area Dimapur and arrested one woman for illegal possession of suspected heroine concealed in four soap cases weighing approximately 62 Grams (14 grams each). In this connection a case has been registered at Women Police Station for further investigation.
Home dept designates officers under RTI
Kohima, September 14 (MExN): The Home Department in a notification issued that in pursuance of the Right to Information Act, 2005 and in the interest of Public Service, the Government of Nagaland has reconstituted and designated the following officers as Appellate Authority (AA), Public Information Officer (PIO) and Assistant Public Information Officer (APIO) in the Home Department, Political Branch. Appellate Authority (AA): R. Ramakrishnan, Home Commissioner; Public Information Officer (PIO): T. Roy, Secretary, Political Branch; and Asst. Public Information Officer (APIO): Hatneikim Kipgen, Under Secretary, Political Branch.
Restoration work of approach road held in Ekokju village
Wokha, September 14 (MExN): The Ekokju Village Council under Wokha District with the help of PWD Department Wokha conducted restoration work for the road damaged by land slide and also the village approach road washed away by heavy rain. The Village Council has acknowledged the Executive Engineer, SDO and their staff for providing JCP and manpower to the village. The Council expressed hope that the department will continue to help the village in times of natural disaster.
KGFO emergency meeting
Kuhuboto, September 14 (MExN): An emergency meeting of Kuhuboto Ghakhu frontal organizations- KGPO, KGKK, KGSU, KGSTH, KGSA and Area elders will be convened on September 18, 10:00 am at KGPO hall Kuhuboto town. Kuhovi Zhimomi, President and K.Kahoto Zhimomi, Secretary in a press release has requested all concerned to attend the meeting positively.
