Fire accident at Mokokchung

Mokokchung, September 17 (MExN): In yet another fire accident in Mokokchung here this evening, a house located at Mokokchung town’s Marepkong Ward was completely razed down where property worth about Rs.40,000/- were destroyed in the fire according to the authorities, though there were no casualties or injuries. It was reported that the Fire & Emergency Services station received information about the fire at around 6:22 PM who then rushed to the scene and brought the fire under control with the assistance of neighbors and volunteers. Authorities informed that the occupants of the house were not home when the fire broke out, the cause of which remained unknown.  

NSCN (R) issues discharge order

Dimapur, September 17 (MExN): The NSCN (R) has issued the discharge order of one Corporal Kivigho Yepthomi “with immediate effect.” It was informed in the order issued by the MIP that “the action(s) of the mentioned individual was found detrimental to the ethics of the National Principles and Ahza, which called for initiating punitive action against the erring person.” It also added that “any issues that may arise in connection with this mentioned individual, the NSCN (R) will bear no responsibilities whatsoever, and shall not reflect the NSCN (R) Government in any manner.”  

Tuensang beneficiaries informed to collect SDRF

Tuensang, September 17 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner & Chairman, DDMA Tuensang L. Jamithung Lotha has informed in a press release that Tuensang District has received the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) for the year 2017-18 from NSDMA, Home Department. The list of beneficiaries is made available at the office of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office. The beneficiaries may collect the amount from the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Tuensang on Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays during office hour from September 24 to October 31. Further, the beneficiaries are informed to produce any of the following documents- Aadhar Card/EPIC/Service ID/PAN Card for identification purpose.  

Khing visits calamity hit area of Kasha

Dimapur, September 17 (MExN): Advisor for V&AH and Women Resources Department, R. Khing on September 9 visited the calamity hit area of Kasha and its adjoining villages where paddy fields had been completely destroyed by massive landslides. According to DIPR report, around one hundred farmers were affected with nearly 100 acres of farmland damaged during incessant rainfall, from a source updated from SDAO Tseminyu. The village authorities of Kasha area had apprised the details of the calamity with the official visiting team, during which Advisor, R. Khing advised the farmers to apply for relief under SDRF schemes through Administration of Tseminyu after verification from concerned line departments. Advisor was accompanied by Engineer Kevingoto Kulnu EAC, and Viwheto Thorie SDAO, of Tseminyu sub-division.
