NGESSO to be launched

Kohima, October 29 (MExN): The Department of Higher & Technical Education will be launching a programme of Nagaland Government Ex-Gratia Scheme for Students Studying Outside Nagaland (NGESSO) on October 30, 11:00 am in the conference room, Directorate of Higher Education, Nagaland. Kohima. Minister, Higher & Technical Education and Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along will launch and grace the occasion while a brief report on NGESSO will be highlighted by the OSD, Finance Department, Taliremba.

 

Tseminyu ADC holds meet for Ngada fest

Kohima, October 29 (MExN): Tseminyu ADC held a meeting at ADC conference hall on October 28 for the forthcoming celebrations of Ngada Mini Hornbill Festival and 50 years of Tseminyu New Town. The meeting resolved that all the responsible assigned jobs to the respective sub-committees of the programs should be completed at the earliest for the said celebrations programme to be held on November 27 – 28. ADC and Chairman of the organizing committee who chaired the meeting expressed confidence with all the responsible members and hoped that it will be a success.

 

Vaccination within Kiphire district

Kiphire, October 29 (MExN): Seeing the serious social economic implication of Foot & Mouth Disease (FMD) and brucellosis, the Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, starting from the month of October will be visiting all the villages, towns and localities for vaccination coverage of cattle, Mithuns, Buffaloes, Sheets, Goats and pigs.  As per DIPR report, it was further informed that any owner refusing to vaccinate their livestock or obstructing the activities will attract legal actions from the Government.  Therefore all the villages/town authority, general public and livestock owners have been requested to give full cooperation to the vaccination teams, for the successful completion of this noble mission.

 

AR apprehends Yung Aung led NSCN (K) cadre 

Kohima, October 29 (MExN): Continuing with crackdown on illegal activities, troops of Assam Rifles apprehended an active cadre of Yung Aung led NSCN (K) during an operation conducted on October 25. Based on specific intelligence received from reliable source regarding extortion activity and threatening of business community by a cadre in general area TCP junction, Kohima; troops of Assam Rifles along with State police representative launched an operation and apprehended Qhetovi Sheqi of Yung Aung led NSCN (K), 37 years of Zunheboto district. As per a press release from Lt Col L Vincent Patton, PRO, HQ IGAR (N), recoveries included one point 22 pistol, one extortion slip and Rs 310 in cash. The apprehendee along with recovered items was handed over to North Police Station, Kohima on October 26 for further investigation. 

 

DLCC quarterly review meeting

Kohima, October 29 (MExN): DC Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie has informed all the members of District Level Coordination Committee (DLCC) on Tobacco Control of a quarterly review meeting on November 5, 11:00 am at the Conference Hall of Deputy Commissioner Office, Kohima. The DC has requested all the concerned members to attend the meeting positively.

 

NAYO Conference & new office bearers’ declaration

Kohima, October 29 (MExN): The Northern Angami Youth Organization (NAYO) has convened NAYO Conference & New Office Bearers’ Declaration on November 2, 10:00 am at Panchayat Hall, Zhadima. NAYO in a press release stated that Er Kezhazelhou Theünuo, Chief Engineer PWD (NH) will be the special guest and Kezhazer Whuorie, former president, AYO will deliver exhortation. All frontal organizations - NAPO, NAGOK, NAWO, NASA, NASU, all Unit presidents & colleagues, senior leaders of NAYO, Village Council Chairmen, GBs and well wishers have been invited to the programme.

 

UBC Midland holds ‘Revival Hour 2019’

Dimapur, October 29 (MExN): United Baptist Church (UBC), Midland, Dimapur hosted ‘Revival Hour 2019’ at its premise from October 18 to 20 last with ‘spiritual awakening’ as its theme. C Allem, Pastor, Grace to Glory Church and Sungit Longkumer, Vice Principal, Kerdaino were the speakers of the three-day event. According to Pastor, UBC Midland, Kherielevol Pucho, a large number of believers attended the revival hour and many were healed of their sicknesses. The Speakers preached that as Christians, believers must stand firm in the truth and not in falsehood, to be anointed in Christ and not to lose the gift of God.
